LightingEurope Release New energy label and Eco-design lighting regulations

LightingEurope (European Lighting Association) wants to better enforce EU regulations to prevent substandard luminaires from entering the market.
LightingEurope said it will issue specific guidelines on new eco-design and energy labeling rules for lighting to assist the industry. They have worked closely with regulators on laws and guidelines, and these guides build on their experience and outline recommendations on how to understand these rules.
LightingEurope said that the new compliance and enforcement directives will create new opportunities for industry and market regulators to work together on luminaire testing, which is critical to making progress in eliminating non-compliant products on the market.
LightingEurope has called for more funding for implementation to help create a level playing field between suppliers that comply with the myriad rules related to lighting products and those that do not.LABLE1

LightingEurope has called for more funding for implementation to help create a level playing field between suppliers that comply with the myriad rules related to lighting products and those that do not.
The organization said in a statement at the end of the year that more needs to be done to ensure more effective market surveillance. “First, more resources must be allocated to the agencies responsible for this work.”
In addition to cooperating with relevant departments, LightingEurope will also develop a series of guidelines in the coming months and years.
